# How to Order Paper Gift Card+ and GiftYouPick Certificates
How to Order Paper Gift Card+ and GiftYouPick Certificates
Paper certificates are printed and shipped by Corporate Traditions, so you can hand a physical gift certificate to each recipient. This guide walks through starting a paper order, setting up the shipment, adding recipients three different ways, and submitting the order.
### Start a new order
1. Log in to your Corporate Traditions portal.
2. Go to the **Orders** tab.
3. Click **New**.
4. Select a **payer**, if your account has more than one.
5. Choose the **order type**: **Gift Card+** or **GiftYouPick**. If you want recipients to be able to choose between gift cards and tangible gifts, start with GiftYouPick. See \[How to Order Dual-Option Gifts with Gift Card+ and GiftYouPick\] for details.
6. For **delivery type**, select **Paper**.
7. Click **Create**.
### Add a shipment destination
Paper certificates ship as one package to the address you choose. If you have shipped to this address before, click the **down arrow** and select it from your saved list. Otherwise, create a new shipment:
1. Enter a **nickname** so you can recognize the address on future orders.
2. Add the **recipient name** for the shipping label.
3. Add an **email address** to receive tracking information.
4. Add a **phone number** in case our team needs to reach you about the delivery.
5. Enter the **shipping address**.
6. Click **Add Shipment**.
### Review your order details
**Section 1: Basic information**
Choose your preferred **payment method**, either check or credit card.
**Section 2: Shipping summary**
This section shows where the package is headed. Tracking information is sent to the shipment email after the order is placed.
### Add recipients
Click **Add Recipient**. There are three ways to add recipients to a paper order.
**Option 1: Upload a spreadsheet**
Best for bulk orders and larger batches.
1. Download the **template spreadsheet**.
2. Fill in the recipient information.
3. Upload the completed file to the order form and click **Submit**. Your recipients are added to the order.
**Option 2: Add a single recipient**
Best for one-off gifts.
1. Enter the **recipient name**.
2. Enter an **email** only if you want to reconcile the gift later or keep the option to send it by email in the future. Paper certificates are not emailed, so this field is optional.
3. Enter the **dollar amount**.
4. Choose a **gift template**, if applicable.
5. Add a **custom message**.
6. Click **Add Recipient**. The gift appears in Section 2 for review.
**Option 3: Add multiple recipients**
Best for generic certificates without recipient names printed on them.
1. Enter the **dollar amount**.
2. Choose a **gift template**, if applicable.
3. Add a **custom message**.
4. Open the **More options** toggle to adjust gift card categories or other settings.
5. Click **Add Recipients**.
### Submit your order
After adding recipients, you will see the total number of recipients, any discount applied, the subtotal, and estimated shipping for the package. When everything looks right, click **Submit**, review the recap, and click **Submit** once more.
### What happens after you submit?
Within a few seconds you are taken to the order page, where you can see:
- **Order details** and **billing information**. An invoice has already been emailed to your billing contact.
- The **order summary** and recipient list.
- The **shipping summary**. Our team prints and ships your certificates, and tracking information is sent to the shipment email once the package is on its way.
### Tips for paper certificate orders
- Add recipient emails even on paper orders if you think you may want to resend a lost certificate digitally later. It saves a step down the road.
- Use the multiple recipient option for certificates you plan to hand out at an event, where you will not know in advance who gets which one.
- Ship to one central address and distribute internally. Each order ships as a single package to the shipment destination you select.
